I’ve been a massive fan of Darren Tate for many years now as the standard of his productions and pure beautifulness of his melodies have been entertaining my ears time and time again. His early ‘Horizons’ albums if your new to him are worth a starting point to get an idea on just how good this man is at making music. In particular the trance style of music is one of his specialities and you will be pleased to know his new record ‘Ether’ falls right into that category.

There might be two editions on offer here but as I’ve found out in recent times the ‘Original Mix’ is just what they used to call ‘Radio Edits’ these days. Not that you hear much of this quality broadcast over the radio these days. So, what you have here is basically the full track in the extended mix and a shorter version for those pushed for time. Once you listen to this though you will just want the full extended edition so you don’t miss one beat of this epic composition of gorgeous melodies and sweeping grooves. It’s a classic Tate production with a soft gentle back beat, gorgeous sounds sweeping in and out and piano driven chords to die for.
Conclusion:
I have to say this is one of my favourite trance records in recent months and I’m not surprised one bit. The moment it slipped into the inbox I had a feeling this would be a good one, Darren Tate records rarely are not. What would be better than hearing this? Having it in your hands!
