Post subject: Gouryella have broken up... |
|
|
Well, I was in a good mood earlier today, its my first day of Christmas vacation, and I'm free from school for 2 weeks. I browsed by the tranceaddict forums, and to my dismay, have learned that Gouryella have split up.
Well, to be more descriptive... Tijs Verwest (Tiesto) decided to call it quits due to 'artistic differences'. In a recent interview, he said "I want people to know I'm not just another Ferry Corsten". Now, whatever he meant by that (anyone know?), might have been related to him quiting.
Ferry Corsten will remain doing Gouryella as a solo project. Not all is lost.
So, what do you guys think about all this?

God I hope its not true, theres nothing about it on the official site tho...
The work done as gouryella was amazing, and after the year he's had, its not like people didn't know who Tiesto was I really hope that Gouryella don't split, cause its good with both of them, sure Ferry has had a lot of success with system f, veracocha, albion, art of trance etc, but Tiesto and him is what makes gouryella so good, the 2 best in their kind in the world.

Ferry Corsten said in an interview over the summer, that him and Tiesto were working on a new Gouryella single... also, Tiesto had mentioned that a Gouryella album would be available in Summer 2002. Since Tiesto left, I think it's possible that Corsten will finish off the remaining work on the single and still have it be released in early February. I also predict something will come out around summer-time... either another single or the album... not sure which (but I hope its the album).
IMO Ferry Corsten is always busy in the studio (which he has even said he wants to focus on his own productions), so there will be no doubt that the Gouryella project will continue.

| Although theres only been the 3 releases so far by them, I think the thing what makes them so good is that every release is a masterpiece, quality more than quantity, and 3 amazing tracks to remember them by forever neway :p

Is this for real, I mean Both Tiesto and Ferry are supposed to be very down-to-earth blokes, what could cause them to split. Gouryella wouldn't be the same without Tiesto because both Ferry and Tiesto brought their own styles to their trax, its like trying to cook a nice recipe, if you leave something out, you can taste that something is missing. Somenone plz tell me ain't so, tell me it ain't so...

I don't what to tell you guys except that its true.
Corsten and Tiesto are apparently still good friends. I wouldn't think that they got in an argument or anything like that. Personally, I think that Tiesto left because he is doing more of a progressive kind of sound lately, while Corsten is sticking to his uplifting style (but a little harder-sounding lately).
Here's an interesting thought: Maybe there will be a new member to replace Tiesto? Keep your eyes open for that. Not to start any rumors, but wouldn't it be cool if AvB joined the project? Those two (Corsten+Armin) work together well, take for example "Exhale".
Now I'm just ranting.. sorry.

Thats something to think about. I agree AvB and Ferry are a dinamite duo but still it wouldn't quite be Gouryella.
