even if a CD is real good you shouldnt have to pay over the top for it!
dont buy imports from shops, get it direct from abroad i.e i seen pulsdrivers album in HMV for £18.99, but i ordered it from a german website and it cost equivilent £8, then 2 quid postage. cut out the middle man and you save, my advice is dont buy from large corporate shops, stick to small shops or websites.
or stick to artists that promote copying, like chris liberator, in his true love album "set fire" it reads in the inlay "if you cant afford this CD get your mate to copy it for you" thats the right attitude!
big shout to aaron, julian and chris liberator for keeping it real!

Personally I think the prices are too high. But I can't buy vinyl without paying a fortune in shipping costs here in Canada, so I end up downloading a lot
I do buy compilations because I think I should support the artists- but most stores don't carry CD albums or even many compilations except for the commerical stuff. But for sure I would buy more CDs if the price was lower- I think if they lowered the price, they would make the same amount of money, because more people would buy them.
And also, if you want to buy quality stuff, ex. Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, even albums or compilations by the great European DJs, they are labeled as "imports" and subsequently the price doubles. And that's IF you can find them. The trance scene isn't exactly thriving here in Alberta, Canada.

CD prices are definitely too high. I buy approx 1 CD per month. I'm sure if CDs were btwn $5-$10 I'd buy more, but the other problem is that I can never find any CDs I even want to buy. Selection is quite limited here in Wisconsin...
