Get ready for a new musical adventure known as 'All Hail The Silence'. This is a new project from one of the electronic icons of the scene BT and one of the scenes most recocgnised voices in Christian Burns as they bring to your their debut EP 'Synthwave'...
It’s good to have a bit of variety in your music collection and I guess like a lot of trance fans there are other styles which appeal to the ears. I’m sure you will have heard of both BT and Christian Burns. BT has been behind many of the biggest electronic dance tracks over the past two decades, he has even been nominated for a Grammy along the way. Christian Burns will be a familiar vocal to you all as well as he has worked with a lot of the top dance artists over the past few years. He has worked with BT before but not quite in the way they are with this new project ‘All Hail The Silence’. Quite a contradictory artist name you may note but one with their first EP which brings some very real world sounds.

The beginnings of this EP began in a studio full of equipment, not a laptop full of plugins. It’s that natural approach to creating the music which draws in so much warmth within the sounds on show here. This has got a 1980’s craftwork feel to things and as a fan of the 80’s sound that works for me. All four of the very differing tracks on here were all created using step sequences and modular/analog synthesizers recorded straight onto tape. The only computer used may well have been only to order the guys dinner as they hid away in the basement crafting together these tracks. It’s very refreshing to have a production method in today’s age of Ableton Live.
You get four very different tracks here. Broken Satellite is a bit of a slow burning one with a down tempo beat and very weathered build up. It’s a song really rather than the dance track, in fact they all are to be honest. Looking Glass really drops the synths on you with a very up beat production, very catchy little movements in the background and as in all the tunes here the vocal of Christian telling the story. The Alarm is the most up beat tune of the four here and after a few plays, my favourite on this release. The vocal, chord changes and little riffs just tick the boxes for me. Time is the chilled out finish to what is a very unique and addictive EP.
Conclusion:
Take a break from the trance and take a moment to enjoy these four synthetic creations from two of the electronic scenes biggest names. If you love the 80’s synth sounds you will really like these. BT & Christian Burns have created Four songs to savour.
