LANGE031 | PAUL VERNON – LUSTRA EP
1. Lustra
2. Distraction
Lange Recordings 31st release is an EP from newcomer Paul Vernon. Paul was the mastermind behind the huge ‘Mind Decay’ on Gareth Emery’s Five AM label which gained support from the likes of Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren and this was Paul’s first release.
Paul has already proved himself an exceptional remixer for Lange Recordings, providing high profile and critically acclaimed remixes for Michael Jay Parker’s Identity and Lange’s own ‘Under Pressure’. Accompany this with an impressive remix of Ronski Speed’s latest outing ‘Denva’ and it’s clear that Paul has really stepped things up a notch in 2010.
This EP is Paul’s first original work on the label and is an excellent showcase for his unique trademark sound. Lustra is a melodic and atmospheric track with short, sharp percussion and an imposing bassline; with a resulting sound that harks back to the golden years of trance. Distraction is a techy affair with a large captivating lead that has already featured on the Intercity Spring 2010 compilation album. This is by no means a ‘B side’ and will no doubt be taken very seriously by all the big players in the scene.
A simply excellent EP from Paul who has gone to great lengths to stake him claim on becoming one of 2010’s brightest stars.
Support from Christopher Lawrence, Ashley Wallbridge, Jon O Bir, Ernesto V Bastion, Mike Push, Andy Moor, Ronski Speed, Gareth Emery and more!
