Post subject: GlobalGathering Announce Live Stage for 2009 |
|
|
News hot off the press is that the UK’s largest electronic music festival is ready to unveil its brand new Tuborg Live Stage. GlobalGathering’s line up for 2009 gets stronger by the week. The new additions christening the brand spanking new stage will be:
• Does It Offend You, Yeah?
• Sneaky Sound System
• The Whip
• Tommy Sparks
• Frankmusik
• Dan Black
• The Subs
These artists represent some of the most exciting names on the emerging live music scene.* All with a strong electronic slant, they neatly complement GlobalGathering’s commitment to the best dance music on the planet. They are a welcome and box fresh addition to an already MASSIVE bill, which includes The Prodigy, Orbital, Pendulum Live and DJs such as Paul van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta and Carl Cox performing throughout the weekend.
• Does It Offend You, Yeah? are a UK based electronic rock band from Reading. Formed in 2007 they released their first album in May 2008 and have been compared to Muse due to their heavier and live sound.*
• Sneaky Sound System are a five piece dance group from Sydney, Australia. They are one of the most popular live dance acts in Australia and their début album has gone double platinum, signed to the same label as festival maestros The Wombats.
• The Whip are one of those cake-and-eat-it computer pop groups, caught between the sleek futurism of Kraftwerk and the baggy thunder of The Mondays. The ultimate live dance / rock band this Mancunian four piece has remixed everyone from Editors to Hadouken!
• Tommy Sparks is an electronic musician with a pop sensibility. His music is crafted and crammed to bursting with hooks, peaks and pop promise.
• Frankmusik is a dance singer, remixer and all-round whizz-kid. He creates high-energy robopop in which fast neon beats jump out of '80s-tinged tunes. Frank has remixed tracks for the likes of Radiohead, Mika and CSS.
• Dan Black is an electro indie man, described by The Guardian as “A gigantic, luminous ball of plasma”. He lives between London and Paris and is releasing his highly anticipated debut album this May.
• The Subs are a modern power trio who have all the right tools to make some epic and noisy electro-house without hiding behind laptops
