Friday April 17th @ The Luminaire
Jalapeno Records Presents:
Kraak & Smaak (LIVE)
Smoove & Turrell (LIVE)
ALI B (DJ set)
Described as a "must see" live band by I-DJ magazine and supported by everyone from Pete Tong to Kanye West, Kraak & Smaak have made a serious name for themselves as a headline festival band. Last year saw them rock it at Glastonbury, Big Chill, Lovebox and Bloom.
This is an amazing chance to see the Dutch funkers play an intimate venue before their Saturday gig in Hyde Park. Expect electronic funk, soul and breakbeat from the dutch beatmasters. You can check out their Plastic people album here http://www.jalapenorecords.com/play/008
Smoove & Turrell will be launching their new album Antique Soul with their first London gig. Their new single "You Don't Know" has just been playlisted by 6Music while their previous single was record of the week on Radio 2 as well as being a massive underground hit on the northern soul scene. Check them out playing live on 6 music here http://www.jalapenorecords.com/play/020 and listen to their album here http://www.jalapenorecords.com/play/016
DJ Support on the night will be courtesy of London legend Ali B. Ali is the promoter of the legendary AIR club nights, resident DJ at Fabric and quite simply one of the funkiest muthafunkas the London club scene has to offer.

Jalapeno Records have long been purveyors of all things eclectic in the world of dance, from funk to lounge, breakbeat to house the label has no respect for boundaries or genre, the only prerequisite is of course quality.
As an extension to the label, the Jalapeno Sound System was set up to spread the word and the vibe, and with dance music currently experiencing one of it's bravest periods with audiences more open than ever to experimental, anything goes setlists the sound system is going down a storm with open minded clubbing crowds.
Label boss Trevor Mac is the Sound System resident with artists like Shepdog, Soopasoul, Skeewiff, Dr Rubberfunk and Kraak & Smaak adding their own individual flavours to the J - Funk mix.
