It’s just over one week now till the biggest hard dance party you could get your hands on drops its weight on the magnificent Brixton Academy in the heart of bustling London town.



From all over the country, by train, plane and automobile, thousands of people will be representing as the hardest, the fastest and the finest get together to put on one of the greatest spectacles witnessed in British dance music. Saturday February 24th IS the Hard Dance Awards 2006 – and it’s going to be very, very big indeed.

So just what will you be getting for your money (all £22.50 of it with tickets still available at www.ticketweb.co.uk ;D )? Let’s break it down…

The Carling Academy Brixton. It’s the jewel in the crown party people. We’re talking one of the most prestigious venues you could ever throw a night in. Everyone from Madonna, Fatboy Slim and the Rolling Stones to Diana Ross, The Killers, Bob Dylan and now the Hard Dance Awards themselves has appeared there. With one of the biggest rooms you could ever hope to have it large in, it’s to die for and you just know that it’s going to go off the scale.

The line-up. Hello! Just how often outside of a tidy Weekender or the big summer festivals do you manage to get so many A-list DJs in one place on one night? Too right it’s a phat one! In the main room we’ve got everyone from the Tidy Boys, Lisa Pin-Up, Lisa Lashes and Rob Tissera to Anne Savage, BK and Ed Real plus two immense live shows from K90 and the Edison Factor.

Things don’t slow down in the other rooms either. Andy Whitby, Amber D, Alex Kidd, Nick Sentience, Mark EG for crying out loud! Kevin Energy, the Organ Donors, Vinylgroover, Jason Cortez & Phil York – they’re called the Hard Dance Awards for a reason and they don’t get much harder than that not-so-little lot.

Still want more? How handy. Cop a load of this then. Representing, and in no particular order but all of them up for a storming night out, we have: Mark H (Polysexual), Andy T & Olly Perris (Addiction), Big Ben (Big), Brian M & McBunn (Bionic), Matt Handy (Contact), Steve Gillen (Cyberkitten), Krunchie (Hardsouth), Chris Pollock (Kubik) and Avaline (Tranzaction). The Awards aren’t just a London event guys. This is the UK’s hard dance scene out in full force with the Regional Heroes looking to prove a point to the big boys (and girls!).

Then add into the overall equation MTV Dance filming their Galaxy Chart Show live from the event; the cream of the nation’s dance press in full attendance; every single DJ, producer and record label boss worth their salt letting their hair down as if their second name was Rapunzel, and at some point in the night 50 scantily-clad Lashettes live on stage, and you’ve got the recipe for one of the most notorious hard dance parties you’ve ever been to in your life!
