Post subject: Gatecrasher White Party May 6th Bank Holiday Special |
|
|
Birmingham will light up in white once again as clubbers join together for another spectacular evening. After a sell out event on Boxing Day, The White Party returns to Gatecrasher with a mind-blowing, innovative second edition on the 6th May 2012. Once again Gatecrasher Birmingham will transform into an oasis of white for what promises to be a never-to-be-forgotten Bank Holiday spectacular headlined by the Dutch musical super elite.
For this awe-inspiring return Gatecrasher presents a quintuple-whammy of electronic Dutch genius as ground-breaking superstars LAIDBACK LUKE, HARDWELL, NICKY ROMERO, SUNNERY JAMES and RYAN MARCIANO hit the club alongside Gatecrasher resident PAUL KELLIE.
The night will also bring together some ofGatecrasher’s wildest performers for daringly decadent ball. To make the whole experience even more magical, clubbers are asked dress as exuberantly and glamorously as they like as long as one item is white.
Gatecrasher Birmingham will also add some production magic to the event, as only they know how! Expect state-of-the-art computer wizardry, the most spectacular visual stimulation and out-of-this-world originality.
The Dutch are hotter than hot right now, dominating the world-stage and grabbing the attention of the world’s A-list pop, R&B and hip-hop stars including P. Diddy, Black Eyed Peas, Missy Elliott, NERD and David Guetta. And LAIDBACK LUKE, HARDWELL and NICKY ROMERO, are amongst the leaders. Following road-blocked events at Gatecrasher Birmingham in 2011 the Dutch trio make a triumphant return alongside special guests and fellow Dutch stars SUNNERY JAMES and RYAN MARCIANO.
Leading the charge is Gatecrasher favourite and in demand dance-floor devastator Holland’s House Music Lovin’ Homeboy LAIDBACK LUKE. Already a global superstar courtesy of world-wide smashes including ‘Show Me Love’ with Robin S, ‘Get Dumb’ and ‘Leave The World Behind’ with Swedish House Mafia, and remixes for the likes of Daft Punk, David Guetta, Murk, Oliver Lieb, and Tom Stephan, 2011 was the most exciting in Laidback Luke’s career. As well as topping the charts with Example with club smash “Natural Distaster “, his super-hero themed party, Super You&Me had a storming third season at Amnesia Ibiza and Luke kick started a compilation series with Laidback Luke presents....Super You&Me featuring Avichii via his own label Mixmash Records.
Joining LUKE is HARWDELL who makes a triumphant return to the club. At only 23 his expertise and illustrious talent has catapulted him into the limelight as he joined world renowned Tiesto on his tour last year. In 2011 alone Hardwell remixed huge hits such as Taio Cruz, Hangover (Hardwell Remix), Marin Solveig ft. Kele, Ready 2 Go (Hardwell Remix) and the huge DJ Fresh ft. Sian Evans hit, Louder (Hardwell Remix). This new kid on the block, with exceptional technical skills mastered by touring the world, has firmly cemented his status as a true pioneer in the dance music industry. His “Big Room House” trademark has catapulted him to the #24 spot in the coveted DJMAG Top 100 poll. The young gun is already at the top of his game playing the main stage at Creamfields and releasing Beatport top ten hits including 'Encoded', 'The World' and 'Cobra' through his own label Revealed. His storming collaboration with Tiësto on hit record Zero 76 went to #1 on Beatport and received a huge amount of airplay worldwide. Behind the decks Hardwell never fails to deliver. These days he’s bringing it to the masses, with performances all over the world from Sydney to Miami and Ibiza to London.
Dutch whiz-kid NICKY ROMERO joins this mammoth Dutch invasion. At just 22-years-old, Nicky Romero is the latest Dutchman to break through onto the international stage. In 2011 he made his debut on Calvin Harris's Fly Eye records with 'Camorra', a peak-time house/trance hybrid, adding to a discography that already includes official remixes of everyone global legend David Guetta, to techno visionary Green Velvet. It’s been a fast ascension to stardom for the young DJ. In 2009 he remixed Sidney Samson and Tony Cha Cha’s track Get On The Floor and a bootleg for David Guetta entitled When Love Takes Over grabbing the attention of Ministry of Sound. My Friend supported by Tiesto, Axwell, Fedde le Grand, Sander van Doorn hit number #4 in the Beatport worldwide overall chart. And 2011 saw Romero release plenty of remixes such as Where Them Girls At by David Guetta featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj, What A Feeling by Alex Gaudino featuring Kelly Rowland, Stronger by Erick Morillo and Rockin’ High by Ben Liebrand. Nicky has recently signed with David Guetta, forging an incredible relationship with one of the world’s most innovative urban dance producers, starting with the release of a new single Jack Back ft. David Guetta, Nicky Romero and Sia.
Completing the line-up is superstar Dutch tag team SUNNERY JAMES and RYAN MARCIANO who make an exciting Gatecrasher debut. After effectively dominating 2011, Sunnery and Ryan have their sights set high for 2012. The duo have quickly ascended into the upper echelon of dance music producers with the release of monster anthems like ‘Tribeca’ and their remake of Tiesto’s ‘Lethal Industry.’ Fans and tastemakers all have supported each Sunnery and Ryan release with the latter track being a weapon of choice for Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, David Guetta and the list goes on and on. Pete Tong made Lethal Industry his ‘Essential Selection’ not once, but twice! Steve Angello scooped up their tune ‘Markuzza’ for his Size Records imprint realizing early on what a masterpiece it was. A release date is pending and the duo put a big room, electro spin on Ferry Corsten’s latest hit, ‘Aint No Stoppin’. Sunnery and Ryan DJ sets are becoming the stuff of legend. They embody dance music fully, bringing the crowd to epic peaks, arms in the air and smiles all around. From the USA to Mexico, Brazil to Guatemala, The Netherlands, The UK, Asia, Russia and all points in between, these two house music champions are breaking new ground one country at a time.

We recently caught up with Dutch sensation Nicky Romero ahead of his performance at Gatecrasher Birmingham for The White party 2012 alongside Laidback Luke, Hardwell, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and here is what he had to say……..
You've recently collaborated with David Guetta on your new track 'Wild One Two' with Sia - how was it working with one the Grammy winning DJ?
In one word, awesome. David has so much experience, vision and drive I think we make a good team Learning a lot from him, I hope he has the same sentiments on us collaborating
You recently did a remix for Madonna which features on her new album MDNA what was it like working for such as superstar?
A dream come true, there are only a handful musicians that can say they have done this, so I am chuffed. REally happy with the outcome as well
How do you top working with Madonna?
Ha, you tell me?
You've announced that you plan to start your own record label in 2012 can you give us any more details about that?
It is going to be my own outlet with loads of awesome tracks and artists on there. I will not tell you the name yet but we are putting loads of time and effort into the look and feel and lining up the releases
You played at Gatecrasher Birmingham a few months back - are you looking forward to returning?
Of course Gatecrasher is one of my favorite clubs to play. England period to be honest you guys bring sooooo much energy it is a joy to perform .
Can we expect anything special?
Lots of my own stuff, am working on some new tracks that I feel will blow your mind if I my say so.
Any new album plans?
No not yet, at the moment the focus lies on my singles and I am working towards doing an album in the near future but slowly
What are your plans for Miami and Ibiza?
My Miami schedule is ridiculous i don't even know when and where I have to be at what time exactly. I do know I am playing Mansion with Calvin Harris, have a mainstage gig at Ultra and i am doing a show with David on friday at liv but the rest I will guess my peeps need to help me out on
I am doing a few shows with David in Ibiza so you can find me at FMIF@ Pacha a few times this year, I am really really really looking forward to that one
What can we expect from Nicky Romero in 2012?
Great music!

Gatecrasher catch up with Hardwell ahead of his set alongside Laidback Luke, Nicky Romero, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano on Bank Holiday Sunday 6th May at Gatecrasher Birmingham.
Q: 2011 was a phenomenal year for you, pick the highlights?
A: The biggest moment for me in 2011 is the entry in the DJ Mag top 100 on #24, but the year 2011 was also the year for my first #1 spot on Beatport and my first time playing at Sensation White and not to forget, my collaboration with Tiesto.
Q: What is the biggest thing you have planned for 2012?
A: A new collaboration with Tiesto and a lot of big festivals playing Mainstage.
Q: You’re becoming a regular Gatecrasher with a return to Birmingham planned? And also in Leeds?
A: Yeah I have a make up date planned for Birmingham at the 6th May because I’ve missed the last edition and looking forward to Gatecrasher Birmingham.
Q: What can we expect from your set?
A: An energetic Hardwell set with lots of new material. Total madness is my planning for Bed!
Q: You premiered your anticipated new Visual Concept Show at Energy, what was the response?
A: I got a lot of positive reactions. Everyone loved it and for me it was a great experience, I would love to do this more often.
Q: Do you think it is important for DJs to have a fully integrated stage show like pop and rock stars?
A: It’s not really important, but it sure gives an extra touch. Eventually it’s all about the music.
Q: Still no album plans?
A: Yes I have plans, but that’s for the future, in a year or 2.
Q: Any new tracks out in 2012?
A: Yes, a lot. Keep watching twitter and revealed!
Q: You toured and recorded with Tiesto last year? How was that?
A: It is not only an honor to work with such a great artist, there is also a lot to learn from him and you get a lot of experience from working together.
Q: Any plans to work with him again?
A: Yes this year.
Q: Any other big names you’d like to work with?
A: Not at the moment. I’m focusing on my own material now.
Q: You are so busy – do you still plan to keep your production output so high?
A: Yes definitely, I will always have, find and make time to make music.
Q: Creamfields and Sensation were two huge events you played in 2011… what can top that in 2012?
A: Big festivals. I really look forward to playing Ultra Mainstage in Miami.
Q: Any plans for Miami and Ibiza this year?
A: Ultra at Miami and for Ibiza there are some plans but nothing concrete. Big chance you will find me on Ibiza.
Q: You’ve been nominated for the ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the International Dance Music Awards – how does that feel?
A: That feels amazing! It’s always nice to hear that you’ve been nominated, that means my work is appreciated.
Q: Are awards important to you?
A: Yes it’s great. Like I said, it feels like a recognition of my work.
